YouTube’s PSA Campaigns Drive Impact at Scale

In 2021, YouTube launched large-scale PSA campaigns in partnership with the Vaccine Confidence Project, World Health Organization, and local health authorities around the world to support the global COVID-19 vaccination effort .

Our U.S. campaign with the Vaccine Confidence Project reached 61% of 18-34 year olds online in the U.S., and of those in that group who recalled seeing the campaign, there was a 17% increase in the likelihood that they would consider getting one of the COVID-19 vaccines when they became eligible.

Our Brazilian campaign, “Conheça os Fatos” (Get The Facts), was developed in partnership with the World Health Organization to address common questions about COVID-19 vaccines.

In India, we curated and promoted multiple videos in several languages to address the dire lack of authoritative vaccine information in local languages. We paired YouTube creators with experts who spoke on a host of topics, from vaccinations, to COVID appropriate behaviors, to managing mental health in the pandemic.
